So now come general election we can see all the bigots really come out of the woodwork.
I’m slightly confused over your definition of the word black? Which leads me to the question, if Barack is not an African American who is? This election is historical, regardless of the outcome. If we keep our eyes and minds open we might learn something about ourselves in the next few months. The good the bad and the ugly.
Barack is African-American, but there are many Blacks who are not. Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply that Barack is not African-American.
I’m still confused. Can you explain who is Black and not African? Luv u
I have a white friend who was born and raised in South Africa, then emmigrated to the US. She is completely white, and is also African-American!
Here’s a definition from the Free Dictionary:
Black is a racial, political, sociological or cultural classification of people. Some definitions of the term include only people of relatively recent African descent (African diaspora), while others extend the term to any of the populations characterized by dark skin color, a definition that also includes certain populations in Oceania and Southeast Asia.
I was including those folks from Oceania and Southeast Asia.
Hi Vicki, does your friend refer to herself as African American?
