Big Brother
August 7th, 2009 by Mike

From the White House Blog:

There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care.  These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation.  Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

Seems a little Orwellian to me. Beware: don’t post anything anti ObamaCare or your web site, ip address, or email might make it to the White House suspects list.

Oh, crap . . .

It’s funny, or not so much, my son was denied physical therapy by Medicaid for the disabled. There reason, he was not making good gains or show good progress. I called to be sure that I understood. “So my son, because he has a degenerative disease and is getting worse can’t receive the only service that will help him with his pain and my lengthen his life.” The response from our government “Yes, that is correct.” Go government healthcare! There Mike we are on “the list” together!

I remember Nixon’s list. He used the FBI instead of regular citizens to make his. I never voted for that crook anyway.

I find it less scary than silly. Imagine the denial-of-service email he’s gonna get from all the Foxheads.

To Karen, I note that my PRIVATE insurance company recently declined to renew my policy. The reason? Oooh, let me quote: “Sought treatment in a medical professional’s office within the last 12 months.” Now, I did appeal, and in six short (cautious) weeks I was covered again. Now, your son needed PT. But I’m just sayin: if you think private insurance would cover it, you may be rudely surprised.

I have been battling cancer for over two years now. I have to live with the fear that Blue Cross might decide that I am just too expensive to cover despite the fact that we have had our insurance premiums without fail for years and years. We are ALL at risk, usually when we are most vulnerable.

As for being worried about Big Brother – I should be on every enemies’ list out there. However, though it might be hard on our egos, the truth is most of simply aren’t that important for the government to waste its time on.
