HONOLULU – Junior Stowers raised his hands and exclaimed, “Thank you, Jesus!” in court last month when he was acquitted by a jury of abusing his son.But his joy was short-lived when Circuit Judge Patrick Border held him in contempt of court for the “outburst” and threw him in jail.

Despite being released in six hours with the contempt charges dismissed, it makes you wonder what is going on in our courts. I wonder what would have happened if the man had exclaimed, “Thank you, lettuce!”

Cal Thomas has some very cogent remarks about the recent US Episcopal Church refusing to disavow ordination of openly, practicing homosexual bishops.

Read the article, then let me know what you think. Biblically, we’re commanded to love everyone, but we’re also commanded to repent of our sin (including practicing homosexuality).

Homosexuality is one of the sins that is clearly identified as sin. The old addage, “Hate the sin, love the sinner,” applies.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Chattanooga last night. About 6:30am I got up to relieve myself and while I was standing there, I felt dripping on my head. (I knew it wasn’t me). As we were not getting up for an hour and a half, I moved the trash can under the leak and went back to bed. Upon checkout, I told the desk manager what had happened and that we weren’t 100% pleased with the situation. Not only did she apologize for our trouble, but consistent with the Hampton Inn promise, the stay was FREE, including the breakfast we had eaten. Read the rest of this entry »
