The following was summarized in the “Campus Ministry Update” from IvyJungle:
Do You Believe in Heaven and Hell: In 1997 only 56% of Americans claimed to believe in hell. That number spiked to more than 70% after the September 11 terrorist attacks. However, recent polling indicates the number has once again fallen to less than 60% of the population. 1ABC News July 11, 2007

They’ll believe when they land in either or. 😉
🙄 or maybe we won’t end up in either. there might be another reality. What do you think?
I used to believe there was a different reality, but now I believe there is a heaven and a hell (or to be more precise, a lake of fire).
😈 Sounds hot to me.
I was raised in the Christian Science faith, which does not view Heaven or Hell as actual places. So I did not believe in the possibility of burning in eternity and, although I am no longer a Christian Scientist, I still do not believe in that type of Hell. This page has a good explanation of the Christian Science perspective on Heaven and Hell. http://www.beliefnet.com/story/80/story_8039_1.html
thanks for the link Scoop. My grandparents were Christian Scientist too bad I never asked them about that. I had no idea.
Personally I always wondered just were heaven is and where hell might be. 🙂
You are welcome, Georgette. I think Christian Science was very popular in the 50s and 60s. I think it is a hard religion for a child to grasp. Many of its ideas make more sense to me now.
