About Mike

Born in Deming, New Mexico, Mike traveled with his family to California. Old Dad, Mike’s father, was in the Army Air Corps and later worked for Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company (now known as Pac Bell). After moving around with the phone company (Prunedale, Hollister, Salinas), we finally settled in the San Francisco Bay Area. After graduation from Los Altos High, Mike attended Wilamette University for two years in Salem, OR, and another two at San Jose State College (now University), where he earned his degree in Philosophy/Psychology. Married in January 1966 to his sweetie, Charlene Enos, he left for a Navy career in September.

Navy travels took them to Pensacola, FL, Corpus Christi, TX, Norfolk, VA, Patuxent River, MD (where their daughter, Stacey, was born), Brunswick, ME (where their son, David, was born), San Lorenzo and San Leandro, CA, Nashville, TN, Ewa Beach, HI, and Indianapolis, IN. Mike deployed to several overseas locations including Keflavik, Iceland, Lajes, Azores, Rota Spain, Sigonella, Sicily, Cubi Point, Philippines, and Diego Garcia, Indian Ocean.

After retirement, Mike worked at Wood-Mizer Products in various functions in Indianapolis until his retirement in March 2004 when they moved to The Villages, FL, leaving their children behind to fend for themselves.
