What’s With The Episcopal Church?

Cal Thomas has some very cogent remarks about the recent US Episcopal Church refusing to disavow ordination of openly, practicing homosexual bishops.

Read the article, then let me know what you think. Biblically, we’re commanded to love everyone, but we’re also commanded to repent of our sin (including practicing homosexuality).

Homosexuality is one of the sins that is clearly identified as sin. The old addage, “Hate the sin, love the sinner,” applies.

Hillary Protests Cut in Grant

Washington, D.C. Associated Press

Senator Hillary Clinton and Rep. Pete King launched a protest over the government’s decision to cut anti-terror grant money to New York City by 40 percent this year.

They’re irate that as part of the funding cut, the Department of Homeland Security determined the city has no national monuments or icons.

They have been sending post-cards addressed to Homeland Security Secretay Michael Chertoff from places like the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and the Brooklyn Bridge. They’re posted on Clinton’s Web Site to encourage citizens to send cards, too.

Why don’t they just use the 4 billion dollars that are ripped off from New York’s Medicaid program every year?

Grand Old Lady Retires

USS Oriskany (CVA-34)

On May 17, 2006, the USS Oriskany, an aircraft carrier on which I served from 1974 to 1976, was sunk off the coast of Pensacola, FL, in about 200 ft of water. It’s to be the largest man-made reef in the world. Divers are already swarming over it taking photos and videos.

I served in the Combat Information Center and as one of the COD (Carrier Onboard Delivery) pilots, flying the Grumman C-1 Trader. My final duties were to help mothball the ship as it retired.

Now 30 years later, she’s out of mothballs and into the deep.
