Besides the chance to attend the National Missionary Convention, visit long-time friends, and share Thanksgiving Day with our offspring, what possessed us to drive to Indianapolis at the end of November? After last year’s February wedding in Indy, we promised ourselves we’d never come to Indy in the Winter again. Well, I know it’s Autumn, but our blood has had nearly a year to continue it’s thinning process. We’re cooooooooold! What were we thinking? ¹Must be the relationships

Just Married

Just Married

As promised, here is a follow-up to previous posts (Wedding a Huge Success and John and Cara), here is the newly wedded couple, John and Cara Erickson.

As you can see, the bride and groom dressed in Middle Eastern attire. The wedding was held at The Holly Street Bar & Grille, who specialize in “specialty” foods and entertainment. The meal was Middle Eastern and hughly delicious. I especially liked the parsley salad (I forget the real name for it).

It was a hot afternoon (I’m guessing about 98Â°F), but that didn’t wilt anyone’s spirit. The groom and best man wore knee lenght black jackets trimmed with a decorative border. The bride’s dress was breathtaking. It was custom made with all of those gold appliques.

And of course the real test of the success of a wedding is a yes answer to the following question: Did the bride and groom get married? Everything else is icing on the cake and this cake was well iced. I’m hoping that the parents of the groom have recovered as they spent lots of time and love in preparing for and bringing off the wedding.

Congratulations to Cara and John. May your marriage be blessed.

Wedding A Huge Success

Well, as announced earlier, John and Cara were wed yesterday. When we get home I’ll post some photos and give some more details, but, I must say that everything went well. The bride and groom are married, families enjoyed each other’s company, the toast was great, the food wonderful, and the parents survived.

What could be better?

Enroute

We’re at the Hampton Inn in Chatanooga, TN, enroute to Indianapolis to see our progeny and touch base with some old friends. We had dinner at the Big River Grille and & Brewing Works. The food is always great and the beer is delicious.

This weekend, David, my son, and I will be going on a golf retreat. Two days of golf, some great worship and deviotion time, and good fellowship. Should be cool.

The rest of the week we’ll hang out with the offspring and visit friends. If I feel motivated, maybe I’ll post something.
